Who We Are

Pine Works is a digital product studio with over two decades of experience building software that solves real problems. We're a small, senior team that works directly on every project. No account managers, no layers, no handoffs. When you hire us, you get the people doing the work. That's not a tagline, it's how we operate.

What We've Done

We've worked on projects with companies like Apple, NASA, Salesforce, the Gates Foundation, Ben & Jerry's, Nintendo, and CBC. We've built a custom warehouse management system that saved an e-commerce company $300K+ over three years, and took over iOS development for Dark Sky, helping maintain its reign as the most beloved weather app until Apple acquired it in 2020. We're just as comfortable building a four-week marketing site as we are shipping a multi-year platform with millions of users.

What We Do

Design, development, strategy, and research is what we do. But we don't just build what you ask for, we help you figure out what to build. Our work spans product design, web and native app development, API integrations, data migrations, internal tools, technical SEO, and product strategy. If it lives on a screen, we've probably built something like it.

Our Products

We don't just build for clients. CraftQuest is our training platform for web developers, updated weekly with courses on modern development techniques. Downlink, available in the App Store, puts real-time satellite imagery of Earth on your Mac desktop, because sometimes you just want to watch the planet spin.
